Tablet forms

Original Xanax is currently available for sale in four different strengths while generics are more diverse. The Xanax strengths include the following:

Bromazepam, presented by Lexotanil, is available in two strengths, 1.5 mg and 3 mg. These pills are sold in blisters, each Lexotanil box contains 30, 60, 90 or 120 tablets.

Dosing Xanax or Bromazepam

Treating with Xanax should start from 0.25-0.5mg of Alprazolam 2-3 times a day with a gradual increase every 3-4 days. The maximum allowed dose is 10 mg per day, which should applied for patients with severe and frequent panic. The limitation for anxiety therapy is 6 mg a day.

Bromazepam should be administered two-three times a day at the total amount of 6-30 mg per day. High doses, reaching 60 mg, should be given only in very severe cases. The dosages for a group of weak patients, elderly people for example, should be much smaller and correspond to their health condition.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

All benzodiazepines are considered to be potentially dangerous to the foetus. For this reason, do not use Xanax or Bromazepam if you are pregnant, especially on the first and the last trimester.
Breastfeeding is not recommended either, as Alprazolam and Bromazepam are able to penetrate into breast milk, which would inevitable affect the baby.

Xanax vs. Bromazepam: side effects

Being similar medications, Xanax and Bromazepam cause the same adverse reactions:

  • Strong headaches
  • Ataxia
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Unsteady movements
  • Light-headedness

Less common reactions to these drugs include jaundice, suicidal ideation and hallucinations.
